Uganda Balance of Trade
The trade deficit in Uganda rose to USD 454.5 million in February 2024, from USD 433.8 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports surged by 78.9% year-on-year to USD 633 million, mainly driven higher sales of gold. Meanwhile, imports climbed by 38.1% to USD 1,087.5 million. Imports in Uganda averaged 370.63 USD Million from 1993 until 2024, reaching an all time high of 1202.60 USD Million in August of 2023 and a record low of 44.20 USD Million in August of 1993.
